Tell us about yourself and your background. Where were you before Fred and Ricky’s?
I have had a long career selling healthy food, starting at Soulard Farmer’s Market. Then, I worked at Duff’s Restaurant for 18 years, which unfortunately closed in 2013. I moved on to work at Whole Foods before I was here at Fred and Ricky’s. It seems like the ongoing theme is providing healthy food and helping people make healthy food choices.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Family always comes first for me. I have a young active son involved in sports. So right now, I enjoy being a mom and spending time with my family.
What is your idea of happiness at work?
I feel fulfilled when I get to have really positive customer interactions and I get to hear really amazing stories. I feel like at Fred and Ricky’s, we’re building a really supportive community here. It’s all about the connections.
How did you know that Fred and Ricky’s was the right place for you?
Well, I have been a vegetarian for 22 years. In the past, I worked for many places in the food industry, and I used to have to wrap up meat. That was my least favorite part of the job and it made me feel uncomfortable. I wanted to work in a place that had values and beliefs that I could agree with. It was when I read the story about Fred & Ricky’s and the reason behind it when I realized this was the place for me. I agree with their passion for wanting to share healthier choices.
What excites you most about your role with Fred & Ricky’s?
The customer interactions and great success stories from customers and other plant-based eaters make me excited to come to work every day. They are truly inspiring. I love working with people!
