St Louis' First Plant Based Nutrition Summit!

St. Louis' first Plant-Based Nutrition Summit was Saturday July 13, 2018 and Fred & Ricky's was a proud sponsor!

The weekend festivities started on the Friday evening before, with a meet and greet for local health care providers and the Summit presenters at Fred & Ricky's home.

Guests enjoyed a delicious selection of bite-sized Fred & Ricky's 100% Plant Based, No-Oil foods while discussing the many benefits of plant-based eating with our esteemed guests.

The Summit started bright and early Saturday morning with a packed agenda of A-list speakers.

The crowd filled one of the the largest rooms at Washington University. Presenters (Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn Jr., Dr. Scott Stoll, Dr. Michael Greger, Dr. Fred Williams, Dr. Jim Loomis, and StlVegGirl, Caryn Dugan) discussed the latest research on how plant-based eating can prevent or reverse a host of common chronic illnesses including heart disease, diabetes,  cancers, auto-immune diseases and more. There was even a cooking demo showing attendees how to make the meal they ate for lunch!

After the Summit Saturday night, the VIP speakers relaxed and kicked back at Fred & Ricky's home.  

We had very interesting conversations around how to make plant-based eating more mainstream; and Fred had the opportunity to share with Dr. Esselstyn how some of the Fred & Ricky's menu was directly inspired by his words.

The crew outdid themselves preparing an incredible 5 course dinner.

Our guests enjoyed a beautiful Kaleo Salad, Seared Italian Polenta and a trio of Italian favorites before finishing with a decadent Chocolate Mousse. They toasted a successful Summit as they cleaned their plates!

Everyone was beat after a day sharing lifesaving information. One final picture was taken....Fred & Ricky with Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn Jr. and his wife Ann, the couple that started it all.

It was a great honor to be a part of such an important event right here in our hometown of St. Louis.

I enjoyed every single minute of this wonderful summit! I hope this is just the beginning for the St. Louis area. I’m so thankful to have discovered Fred and Ricky’s, also. Thank you to all of you for a fantastic, memorable day that I won’t soon forget!!
